A requirement of End of Life Vehicles (ELVs) regulations is that the last holder of any vehicle depolluted/dismantled is issued with a Certificate of Destruction.

A certificate of Destruction can only be issued by an Authorized Treatment Facility (ATF).

We are a fully licenced (ATF).

The ATF will give you a Certificate of Destruction (CoD) within 7 days if they agree to scrap your vehicle.

If you want to scrap any other type of vehicle you can still take it to an ATF, but you won’t get a CoD.

A CoD is proof that you’ve handed over the vehicle for scrap.

You could still be liable for traffic offence penalties or vehicle tax if you don’t have a CoD when your vehicle’s scrapped. # scrap car

Tell the DVLA

The ATF will tell DVLA your vehicle has been scrapped.

We can collect without the V5C, if the 'V5C if missing' We just need photo ID. We will nnotify the DVLA the same day that the vehicle has been scrapped / sold using the details from  you on the day of collection. If you need more details please feel free to contact us by phone or email.
The person present at the time of collection will have to provide Photo I.D 

Due to the Scrap Metal Dealers Act 2013, we now need to obtain a copy of your Photo I.D. We understand that this may be inconvenient and it was never required before, but that is now the law. We don’t create the rules; we just have to make sure we adhere to them.  

The Scrap Metal Dealers Act 2013 replaced all previous legislation, but the big change was car breakers as well as scrap metal dealers weren't able to buy any scrap metal for cash, including vehicles. Companies also now have to take copies of the persons Photo ID and a recent utility bill. We all have up to date DBS checks as this is also the law. Cars wanted. We buy any car.
